Construction sites

Construction site security in Sacramento

Job sites lose tools, materials and copper wire when no one is watching. GPI protects Sacramento construction sites after hours and on weekends with licensed armed or unarmed officers, patrol visits and camera monitoring, and can log every person and vehicle at the gate.

  • Tools, equipment and materials. Containers, trailers, equipment yards and staged deliveries are checked on every round.
  • Copper, wire and vandalism. A visible officer stops most copper theft, graffiti and damage to finished work before it starts.
  • Gate logs and lock up checks. Names, companies, plates and times at the gate during work hours, and a check that gates, containers and trailers are locked at the end of the day.
  • After hours and weekends. Coverage from the last crew out to the first crew in, plus weekends and holidays, when most theft happens.

Your superintendent receives daily activity reports and incident reports with photos. Smaller sites can use mobile patrol or camera monitoring, quieter phases can use unarmed officers, and hot work or impaired fire systems need fire watch guards.

Questions

Construction site questions

Do I need a standing guard on my construction site or is patrol enough?

It depends on what is on site and how often you have had losses. A standing guard makes sense when valuable materials or equipment are staged, or the site has been hit before. Patrol visits work for smaller sites or quieter phases of the job.

Can you cover a job site only on nights and weekends?

Yes. Most construction coverage is after hours: from when the last crew leaves until the first crew arrives, plus weekends and holidays. Daytime gate coverage is also available.

Can your officers run the gate during work hours?

Yes. An officer can check in every person and vehicle, keep a gate log with names, companies, plates and times, and turn away anyone who is not on the list. The log goes to your superintendent.

We are doing hot work. Can you provide a fire watch?

Yes. We provide fire watch officers for hot work and for buildings whose fire protection is not working yet. They patrol on the interval your permit or fire official sets and keep a timestamped log.
