Who we are

Global Protection & Investigations, Inc. ("GPI," "we," "us") is a licensed security company in Sacramento, California.

This policy explains what information our website collects, how we use it, who helps us handle it and the choices you have. It covers this website, its request forms, its chat assistant and the text messages we send about requests.

Information we collect

What you give us

  • Request forms: your name, phone, email, company, location or site address, the service you need and the message or details you type.
  • Chat: what you type in the chat, including your name and phone if you choose to share them.
  • Calls, emails and texts: what you tell us when you contact us directly.

What is collected when you visit

  • Our site is hosted on Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages and Pages Functions, in GPI's own Cloudflare account). Cloudflare processes each request, including your IP address and browser information, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
  • For your visit, your browser remembers the first page you opened, the site that sent you here and any campaign tags in the link (utm tags or gclid). See Cookies and browser storage.
  • Google Analytics records the pages you view and the buttons you use, such as call links and sent requests. See Cookies and browser storage.
  • Microsoft Clarity records how visitors use the site: clicks, scrolling, session replays and heatmaps. See Cookies and browser storage.

Cookies and browser storage

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages, calls and requests work. It sets first party cookies and receives your IP address, browser details and the pages you view. We turned off its advertising features and Google signals, and we do not use it for ads. You can block it with your browser's cookie settings or the Google Analytics opt out add on. We do not use advertising pixels, and there is no mailing list to join.

We use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use our site. It records clicks, scrolling and mouse movement as session replays and heatmaps, and sets cookies to recognize a returning browser. What you type into form fields is masked and not recorded. This data goes to Microsoft, which processes it under its own privacy statement. You can block Clarity with your browser's cookie or tracking protection settings.

We use your browser's sessionStorage, which is cleared when you close the tab. It keeps your chat conversation as you move between pages. It also remembers the first page you visited, the referring site and campaign tags (utm tags, gclid) for that visit. These are sent with a request form or chat lead so we know how you found us.

We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies, gives us only overall page view statistics and does not track you across other websites.

How we use your information

  • To answer your request and prepare a quote
  • To follow up with you by phone or email, and by text if you agreed to texts
  • To provide and manage security service if you become a client
  • To understand how visitors find our site
  • To keep the site secure and block spam
  • To meet our legal duties, including records the security industry must keep

How request forms work

When you submit a request form, it goes to GPI's own lead management system. That system is also hosted on Cloudflare in GPI's account. GPI staff review each request and follow up. The website itself does not send any email.

Your IP address is not passed to our lead system. We only use a one-way salted hash of it (a scrambled code that cannot be turned back into your address) to limit repeat submissions and block spam.

If our system is briefly unreachable, your request is held in a Cloudflare storage backup for up to 30 days so it is not lost.

To block spam, forms and the chat use Cloudflare Turnstile, a security check that looks at technical signals from your browser (it is not used for advertising). Most visitors never see it.

AI chat assistant

The chat on our site is an automated assistant. The chat window says "You're chatting with GPI's AI assistant."

  • Chat messages are processed by Anthropic (the Claude API) as our service provider to write the replies. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default.
  • The assistant may ask for your name and phone so a person can follow up. Once you give a phone number or email, the chat transcript and your contact details go to our lead management system, the same as a request form.
  • Please do not share payment card numbers, passwords or other sensitive information in the chat.
  • Replies may be inaccurate. Only GPI staff can confirm prices, availability and coverage.

Text messages (SMS)

Forms that ask for your phone number have an optional checkbox. It is unchecked by default. It reads:

Text me about this request. I agree that Global Protection & Investigations may send text messages to the number above about my request and service. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not required to get a quote.

Consent wording version: 2026-10-22

  • Consent to texts is not a condition of any purchase.
  • We only text numbers whose owner checked the box or texted us first. Texts are about your request and your service.
  • We do not use marketing lists.
  • We do not sell or share mobile numbers or text opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for their marketing.
  • Texts are sent through Twilio, our text message provider.
  • Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.
  • Reply STOP to stop texts. Reply HELP for help, or call (916) 588-3359.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Who we share information with

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

These service providers handle information for us:

  • Microsoft, for visit recordings and heatmaps (Microsoft Clarity)

  • Correct: ask us to fix information that is wrong.
  • Opt out of sale or sharing: we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.

  • No discrimination: we will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.

To make a request, email info@globalprotection.us or call (916) 588-3359. We verify your identity by matching the contact details we have on file. An authorized agent can make a request for you with your written permission. We respond within 45 days.

Shine the Light: California law also lets you ask whether we disclosed your personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing. We do not.

Children

Our site is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from them.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including HTTPS encryption and access controls. No method of sending or storing data is 100% secure, so we cannot promise perfect security.
